Rose Hill Middle School students experience the full spectrum of art

RHMS art activities

Rose Hill Middle School students in Alex McShane’s Visual Art and Digital Media classes have been busy this semester. In December, the students showcased their work in a visual art/digital media show. Pieces ranged from 2D painting, drawing and photography to 3D sculpture.

In January, the students took a field trip to the Seattle Asian Art Museum for a tour and workshop. This interactive program, titled “Eyes on Asia,” focused on the museum’s permanent collection and the many facets of Asian identity. Students had the opportunity to sketch and sculpt at the museum and make connections to a school unit on portraiture and identity.
