Aishi Roy and Nadeen Batshoun

Aishi Roy & Nadeen Batshoun (l)

Two Lake Washington School District (LWSD) students have been recognized at the national level for their academic achievement and leadership. Aishi Roy of Rose Hill Middle School and Nadeen Batshoun of Timberline Middle School were named recipients of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) Outstanding Achievement Award.

The NJHS Outstanding Achievement Award honors just 500 middle school students nationwide each year who exemplify the organization’s five pillars: scholarship, service, leadership, character and citizenship. Award recipients are selected through a competitive application process and must demonstrate sustained excellence both in and out of the classroom.

In addition to national recognition, each recipient receives a $500 college savings award, reinforcing the importance of early preparation for future education and long‑term success.

Aishi and Nadeen’s achievements reflect their individual dedication and leadership. LWSD is proud to have two of its students being celebrated for their commitment to Social & Civic Engagement, as outlined as a student skill set in the district’s Strategic Framework.
