Curriculum Night

On Tuesday, September 24th Rose Hill Middle School and the RHMS PTSA invite you to attend the RHMS Open House & Curriculum Night. The format will be a combination of a schoolwide Community Event and a traditional “Curriculum Night”. Beginning at 5:30pm, the PTSA will be providing food and refreshments (until they run out) in the RHMS Courtyard, there will be RHMS student musical performances in the Commons, and it will be an opportunity for all members of the RHMS family to mingle and build community.

Later in the evening, beginning at 6:30pm you will be able to meet each of your students’ teachers in their classrooms as you go through your student’s schedule, visiting each class in the order that your student has them during the day, with the evening ending at 8:00pm.

We will not hand out printed student schedules on Tuesday evening. Instead, students will be writing out their schedule during 6th period on Tuesday and bringing it home to give to you. You can also go into Skyward Family Access via computer or the mobile app to see your student’s schedule. Since our classrooms are organized in “pods” by color we have asked students to include this on the schedule they will be filling out in addition to the room number to help you navigate. Please be on the lookout for a blue piece of paper that has the template for their schedule that your student filled out. We will expect all students to do this, even if they aren’t sure if you are going to attend, or if they are planning on joining you.

All family members are invited to attend. Your student is welcome to accompany you to hear the classroom presentations. The library will be available with activities for younger children during the Curriculum Night portion of the evening. Children will need to be supervised by a parent or an older sibling although we will have high school student volunteers there to help out as well.

As you can imagine, parking is at a premium. If you are close enough to walk, please consider walking on Tuesday evening. It will save you the hassle of trying to find a parking space and free up spaces for those who live farther from campus. If the parking lot is full and you park in neighborhood streets, please make sure that you are parking legally and are not blocking any driveways. Last year we had cars that were blocking driveways, preventing neighbors from being able to leave their homes. Not only is this inconsiderate to our neighbors, but cars can also be towed if they are preventing access to driveways.

We look forward to seeing you all.
