Open House & Curriculum Night
It was so nice to see so many of you at our Open House & Curriculum Night on Tuesday, September 15th. The turnout was incredible! Thank you so much for coming. It was our best attended event since I have been the principal at RHMS, and it brings great joy to have so many students, siblings, and the important adults in their lives all together in the school at the same time. Our staff was so pleased to be able to meet you, and our teachers enjoyed the opportunity to share about themselves, their classrooms, and the courses they teach. You can see that we have an incredible group of teachers who are passionate about teaching and love working with middle school students. It was also great to have so many students present to escort families through their schedules. It filled my heart to see students enthusiastically sharing their school with their families. I also think it is beneficial for students to be able to hear what their teachers share with their parents.
I want to thank our young musicians in the Choir and Jazz Band for performing. It was probably one of the largest audiences many of them have performed in front of and to do so after only two weeks of school was very impressive. They were great! Lastly, I want to thank our RHMS PTSA for helping sponsor the event. They provided the food and refreshments for the evening and fed a huge number of people. This is just one of the many ways that our PTSA supports our staff, students, and school community, in addition to providing mini grants to teachers for classroom enrichment experiences, staff appreciation, volunteer coordination, 8th grade celebration, emergency prep, and much more. We are so grateful for all their support. In each weekly newsletter the RHMS PTSA has a standing space for announcements and PTSA reminders. During first period, all teachers started off their presentation by sharing the following PowerPoint slide which puts all the different parent resources, their purpose, and log-in information in one place to help families know how they can use them to support their student’s success.
