Back-To-School Prep Day
Back-To-School Prep Day will take place on Wednesday, August 19th, from 9:00 am through 3:00 pm.
On Prep Day, you can take care of back-to-school business such as pre-order a yearbook, purchase an ASB card and RHMS apparel, buy a PE shirt, and meet with the registrar to update address changes or other registration services. Our Health Room staff will be on hand to accept any medications needed for the start of the school year (completed medication form signed by physician required), immunization paperwork, or a signed Individual Health Plan (IHP). A representative from the PTSA will also be present to answer any questions about RHMS PTSA and you can complete a membership form and join PTSA.
The Athletic Participation fees for the 2026-2027 school year can be found in the LWSD Middle School Athletics webpage. We will not be taking Athletic Participation Fee payments during Prep Day. Athletic Participation Fees will be due after tryouts on the second week of September. If your child is interested in participating in After-School Athletics, please register your student for Season 1 on Final Forms before the start of the school year.
If you are unable to attend Prep Day, the same business can also be taken care of in the office on the week before school (August 24-28), or during the first week of school (August 31 - September 4) by either the student or the parent.
In order to spread out the flow of people, we will be holding three sessions based on the first letter of the student’s last name. Suggested visiting times:
- 9:00 am -10:30 am – Session 1: Last names A to G
- 10:30-11:30 am - Closed for staff lunch break
- 11:30 am -1:00 pm – Session 2: Last names H to O
- 1:00-1:30 pm - Closed for restocking and brief staff break
- 1:30 pm -3:00 pm – Session 3: Last names P to Z

After-School sports sign-up
Students interested in participating in after-school sports programs must have a completed physical (done by a medical professional) and all LWSD Athletic Policy forms before they can practice. Follow this link for sports registration: Final Forms.
ASB Membership is required for after-school sports participation. Before the first game/match of each season, an athlete must have ASB Membership for the current year and paid the Athletic Participation Fee for the season. The Athletic Participation fees for the 2026-2027 school year are currently being evaluated by LWSD. Please watch out for an email from the Lake Washington School District in August.

Fall schedules
Fall schedules will be out and viewable to students through Skyward Student Access the day before school starts. 6th Graders and newly enrolled 7th and 8th graders will receive a paper copy of their schedules on the first day of school.
Laptop check-out
6th grade students and newly enrolled 7th and 8th graders will receive their laptops on Thursday, September 3rd.
Picture ID cards
All students will get their photo taken and will receive their free student ID card on Friday, September 4th. Students absent on this date will get their photo taken and free student ID card on Friday, October 9th.
Optionally, if your family wishes to order copies of your student's photo, they will be available for pre-order from O'Connor Photography Studio starting in August.
